Join us for a make-your-own flower or heart workshop during Valentine’s Day Weekend! These hand-blown glass hearts and flowers make for a unique and artistic gift or wonderful decoration in your home. Choose a 20-minute time slot to make your own (one per participant). Each heart or flower varies in size, color, and is unique.
In this intensive workshop participants will observe and practice several fundamental techniques used in metal fabrication. Time will be split between demonstration and assisted hands-on practice. The instructor will demonstrate the safe and proper use of a variety of equipment, then students will choose metal scrap material to create a sculpture of their own design. Techniques covered include heating, bending, and cutting using an oxy-acetylene torch, cutting using a plasma cutter, and MIG welding.

The blacksmithing shop is available to rent for an hourly rate of $20 per hour. The open studio runs from 9 am to 5 pm with advance registration. Choose “Other” for the amount of time if you would like to pay as you go.
