SAW Teen Arts is the best! It could’nt be better. My so was so happy with his time there and he made so many amazing functional works of art. As a parent I appreciated the communication, and simple orgnization of the camp Admin. All the teachers are caring and inspiring. I hope there are lots more oppertunities for teens to have access to programs like this though out the year. Summer Salem Teen Arts 2022

“It was great working with and learning from Brandon in this class! It pushed my creativity and encouraged me to take more risks with my glass work. Fox was a great host as well, making sure we had everything we needed and adding his experience and knowledge to the class. Plus seeing all the other artists and students at work was really fun, especially the iron pour. I will definitely come back for the Festival of Fire in the future.”

“Fox and Claire were great instructors and it was very nice that it turned out to be just 2 students so there was a lot of individual attention. TBH, a maximum of 6 seems too high. After seeing how far you get in 2 3-hour sessions, I'd recommend looking into creating a week-long summer class (with more instruction hours per day) so that coming out of it you'd have a lot more experience. Glassblowing classes at other sites seem to promise more stuff to come home with, but I assume the professionals are doing a lot of the tricky work instead of the student (gathering, necking, etc.). It might not be bad to advertise that this is a class for people who really want to learn the whole process end to end and the emphasis is more on learning real technique than coming back with a colorful paperweight. Also, while I knew what to expect, some people might not know that there aren't easy food options in the area for non-resident workshop participants, so suggesting packing a lunch for a 10-1 workshop isn't a bad idea.”
