JIM LETTS
During his 40-year career with YMCAs throughout New England and New York, Jim held multiple positions in the organization starting with resident and day camping, aquatics and fitness, to Executive Director, and eventually CEO of the Saratoga Regional YMCA, where he oversaw a $13M operation, five branches, and 550 employees. With the Y he received extensive training and experience in programming, strategic planning, operations, and fundraising. Jim’s reputation was taking over Y’s in difficult financial situations, and turning those operations from being in the red to in the black.
After retiring from the Y, Jim realized he still had a passion for learning and helping other organization’s in the nonprofit sector. He became the Executive Director of the Saratoga Automobile Museum where he started the Saratoga Auto Auction. This major fund-raising event allowed the museum to renew their lease in the state park, and for museum to carry out their mission.
Wanting further to expand his horizons, Jim took the position of Development Director at Salem Art Works. Soon after his arrival, SAW was navigating the world of covid and working with the government to receive PPP and ERTC money which kept SAW operating during difficult times. Jim has now taken on the role of Interim Executive Director at SAW, where he brings a business and operation acumen to the ED position.
Jim enjoys his children, exercising, golf, and spending time with friends.
