The Solar Kitchen Unit - Saturday July 13th - From 12pm
Our best machines are made of sunshine. The Solar Kitchen Unit is an autonomous, modular kitchen based on the work of Maria Telkes, a Hungarian engineer (1900-1995) who pioneered research in solar energy. Among her many inventions, she designed reproducible, inexpensive solar ovens that have been largely forgotten in archives along with Tekles’ legacy. Join us Saturday, July 13th at Salem Art Works after the Harder Barter to cook together, highlighting Tekles’ work and local produce. Find us outside, on top of a hill, soaking up the sun.
